A Brief Summary:
On a rainy night in April, a chance encounter on a lonely road draws David into a romance with Jana Fletcher, a beautiful young law student. Jana is an enigma: living in a run-down apartment and sporting a bruise on her cheek that she refuses to explain. David would like to know her secrets, but he lets them lie—until it’s too late.

When you are in the profession of reviewing mystery books, there is a high probability of coming across many similar plots; and when that happens the reviewer might feel a bit hesitant about reading the book. We found ourselves in a similar situation when we picked up this book and we are very happy we started reading this novel.
This book is indeed a stellar piece of work and that’s we gave it a 5 star rating: The plot is very gripping, and the author who seems to excel in character development pushes various narratives forward: From the view of Dave Malone, the killer, Jana Fletcher and moves back and forth in time.
We particularly liked the twist towards the end of the book and although this is not a short novel (402 pages), we were so hooked that we read it in one sitting…This is a series in which we highly recommend to all lovers of crime fiction.
